Meet Jim Hambel, PHIT America Champion Advisory Team
PHIT America is pleased to announce Jim Hambel, one of PHIT America's inaugural members of the Champion Advisory Team.
Jim Hambel is a physical education teacher at PS 457 The Sheridan Academy For Young Leaders in the Bronx, New York. Jim has had a love of exercise and physical activity and loves to share this joy with others. He has taught in all five NYC boroughs. He has a teaching license in PE as well as general education and special education for grades 1-6. Jim is a member of the Professional Bowlers Association and also a member of the US Bowling Hall of Fame.
Since 2007, Jim has also stayed involved with American Football as a Middle/High School Official. In November 2022, he was named a Bowler’s Ed Curriculum Specialist.
He was named the New York State Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance Elementary Physical Education Section Amazing Person and recognized with the 2021 Dr. R. Doris Corbett Johnson Leaders for Our Future Award. He has a beautiful wife and two amazing daughters. He is proud and excited to be an AMPED ambassador and part of the PHIT America Advisory Team.

Mình hay ngại mấy site nhiều chữ, nhưng ở đây họ chia nội dung theo từng khối nên kéo xuống khá nhẹ nhàng. Ngay phần đầu đã thấy tiêu đề “trang chủ chính thức” đặt nổi, nên mình nắm được mục đích của trang mà không cần tìm lung tung. Mình cũng để ý có đoạn nói về giấy phép hoạt động và phần liên quan bảo mật/dữ liệu, viết theo cụm ngắn nên đọc nhanh được. Nói chung cảm giác họ ưu tiên cho người mới vào, không bắt phải bấm qua quá nhiều lớp.…
Love seeing educators like Jim get the recognition they deserve - especially someone who's clearly been putting in the work across all five boroughs. His bowling background is such a cool angle too; it's a sport that gets overlooked in PE, but it teaches focus and precision that translate to so many other areas. Speaking of making things look good, I was actually messing around with a bad quality image maker online the other day for some meme content, and it got me thinking about how we present physical activities to kids - sometimes the polished stuff feels too corporate and the goofy stuff actually lands better with students.
